As well as listing the voices heard on the air over the eras, (see below) the book explains how Radio Caroline has recruited on air talent, how they were paid and why so very few used their own names. It also highlights the DJs who used more than one 'stage name'.

Radio Caroline Voices on the Air is not a book of DJs photographs, nor of their vews or biographies. Those are all well catered for in other publications. The book is an exhaustive and comprehensive listing of the DJs and news readers, etc, heard in each of Caroline's various incarnations.
Caroline broadcasts have been made for no less than five ships, the biggest of which has been the Ross Revenge, seen with its magnificent tower on the cover of this book, along with some of the stars of Caroline.
This new book lists all the voices heard on Radio Caroline and its associated stations over the last six decades. Disc Jockeys, newsreaders - they are all listed in this new book, the first time that the Radio Caroline voices heard on the air have been listed since the 1967 book by John Venmore-Rowland.
After her sixties success as the Sound of the Nation she metamorphosised in the seventies to be Europe’s first and only album station, mixing alternative music with messages of hope and peace.
After the MV Mi Amigo sank in 1980, a replacement ship carried on the same work until she had to be salvaged from the notorious Goodwin Sands in 1991. Now a legal and licensed station ashore, Caroline has evolved into a four station network of alternative music for the British Isles.
Radio Caroline has been a beacon on the medium wave band for six decade now, for those seeking an alternative to state controlled broadcasts. Her moorings in International Waters enabled her to operate free of state rules and regulations. Now she operates legally from shore bases under licence, but still offers an alternative to mainstream broadcasts.
The book outlines the Radio Caroline story, listing all its many programme hosts and presenters, the DJs and the stars, in all four eras of her life, as well as the lesser-known voices.
Many of these brave young men went on to find fame and fortune on other media elsewhere and former Caroliners can be found all over the world. They invariably remember with great affection the kick start given to their media careers on Radio Caroline.
